Seven ancient wonders

the other day we had to write an extra chapter for a book we read so this is it

 Captain West and his team have discovered that in order to stop the world from being fried, baked and boiled they need to find not 7 but 8 capstones. Where is this 8th capstone and where is the eighth wonder of the world? The only clue they have is this riddle. This red sacred rock in a red barren land With nothing but sand all around In here you will find what you do not expect And what you expect you will not find Follow the bilby watch the sun Cross over the rock at half past one To find the entrance do not dig But stand and stomp to trigger the rig This riddle was the only clue that Captain West had to finding the 8th piece of the capstone. Originally Wizard thought that there where only seven pieces but the last riddle had suggested towards an eighth part, that they needed to find in order to save the world from the Tartus rotation. Which is when the sun is exactly parallel with the earth. Off everyone flew, heading for Australia in the Halicarnussus, Captain West’s private plane. Hoping that this new mission wasn’t going to end the way the last seven had in a disastrous mess loosing yet again a piece of the capstone. So far West and his team hadn’t managed to get one piece of the capstone.They had found them all of course,but as soon as it was in their hands Judah had it taken back. Or more like snatched in a bloody gruesome fight. But now they had an advantage. Captain West no longer had his tracking device attached to him so Judah had no idea where he was going. Australia was also Captain West’s homeland so he new exactly where he was going. One problem, though he no longer had a tracking device, Judah did have a copy of the riddle so he wouldn’t be far behind. The race was on! Wests plane soared low across Australia’s red desert and all of a sudden a bunch of black clad figures jumped from the plane gliding silently to the ground in trained efficiency. Sky monster the pilot of the expedition had calculated all the measurements the other day on the rock and had discovered that there where three different entrances but only one was the right one.They walked up to the first and most likely entrance and all of a sudden there in front of them was a large spirally staircase west had stepped on to a trigger stone to open the door to the sacred tomb of Denon which when translated to English means the last step. It was probably very auspicious that West had got the first entrance right because Judah was about 5 minutes behind him which meant there wasn’t any time for looking at some of the amazing hieroglyphics on the walls. West and his team set off down the spirally staircase.It was decaying badly but hey, what do you expect after 20000 years. What was most surprising was that there where no traps in this part of the temple, but as West and his team neared the end they saw an unusually high stepping stone that separated them from the ramp. The ramp featured two openings along its length one looked like a door way that was big enough for one man to step through.This was two thirds of the way up and the other was what looked like a pipe. Ominously, a wispy thread of steam issued out from the pipe, dissipating as it spread along the ramp. Wizard was enthralled. “ Ooh it’s a single exit convergence trap” “a what” ? Pooh bear said. “Don’t you remember, we saw one of these in Hamilcars refuge, “Oh yeah. Now I remember. So its going to be a race between us and what ever miscellaneous liquid comes out of that pipe and I would have to guess that the stepping stone is the trigger. Ok everyone on the count of three we jump one, two and three. The pipe opened up as soon as west stepped off the stone and started sprinting up the ramp as the amount of gooie smelly super heated mud came oozing down the ramp. Obviously the mud had the advantage, it was going down and West and his team going up. So it wasn’t a fair race. But hey when is it fair. As they entered the doorway an amazing sight met there eyes the walls were covered in intricate paintings of reds and yellows they pictures of prehistoric animals and theories of how the world began it looked like the paintings were alive and watching. In the middle of the cavern was a large alter and embedded in the alter was the last piece of the capstone. Wizard simply walked straight up to it and took the piece and then the alter started to separate creating an exit. So down the hatch everyone went not testing to see if it was safe because Judah was write behind them, as the last person went down the hatch it was just pure luck that the hole started to close before Judah had a chance to get into it. West and his team slid down the hole all the way to the bottom where there was a staircase that lead up to the open air to were Captain West’s plane was waiting to whisk them away so as they could save the world.
